Agnès Lacaille is an art historian. She started her research at the ULB on the history of the African art
market in Belgium relating to the collection of the Musée Royal de l’Afrique Centrale in Tervuren.
Wauthier de Mahieu is a Jesuit priest and anthropologist who, in the 1970s, conducted extensive fi eld
research on the Komo people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Elena Martínez-Jacquet is editor in chief of the French edition and responsible for special issues for Tribal
Art magazine.
Wolf-Dieter Miersch is a long-time collector of and expert in African weapons and shields, who is based in
Germany.
Hillary Olcott is the assistant curator of Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas at the Fine Arts Museums
of San Francisco.
Claude-Henri Pirat is a researcher and collector of African art, and he has authored several publications on
the subject.
Ethan Rider has been in the business of selling, photographing, appraising, and researching African tribal art
since 2004. He specializes in African weapons.
