Christian Coiffi er is an architect and anthropologist, an attaché and former lecturer at the Muséum National
d’Histoire Naturelle, and former project manager at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac.
Deborah Dainese is an African art scholar and an independent reporter for various Italian art magazines. She is also
known for her drawings of emblematic pieces of African art.
Alexandre Girard-Muscagorry studies conservation at the Institut National du Patrimoine.
Bertrand Goy is a member of the Société des Africanistes and writes on the history of arts premiers.
Crispin Howarth is curator for Pacifi c arts at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
Hilary Howes is a postdoctoral fellow for the Collective Biography of Archaeology in the Pacifi c (CBAP) Project of
the School of Archaeology and Anthropology at the Australian National University in Canberra.
Cesare Marino (PhD, American U.), Robert Pontsioen (PhD, U. of Aberdeen), and Paul Michael Taylor (PhD, Yale
U.) are anthropologists and researchers in the Smithsonian Institution’s Asian Cultural History Program, where Dr.
Taylor serves as director. Dr. Marino previously served as staff writer and bibliographer for the Handbook of North
American Indians. Both Dr. Pontsioen and Dr. Taylor have extensive fi eldwork experience in Asia and numerous
resulting scholarly publications.
Elena Martínez-Jacquet is editor in chief for Europe and special issues manager of Tribal Art magazine.
Carole Millon is the exhibition project manager at the Musée des Confl uences in Lyon.
Maia Jessop Nuku is associate curator for Oceanic Art in the Department of the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the
Americas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Marie Perrier is curator for the African and Oceanic collection at the Musée des Confl uences in Lyon.
