LARTA
London—The London Antique Rug & Textile Art Fair
will hold its ninth annual show from January 22–27,
2019. The UK’s only fair dedicated to fi ne antique
carpets and textiles, LARTA brings together seventeen
specialist dealers from across Britain and Europe. Offering
a world of color, texture, and history, LARTA
is an unbeatable source of traditional oriental and
Persian carpets, vibrant tribal rugs, rugged kilims,
delicately colored dhurries, fi ne textiles from Europe
and the Silk Road, antique costumes, and a host of
associated works of art. Modernist twentieth-century
textiles can also be found alongside a selection of
bespoke contemporary designer carpets. It will be located
on the mezzanine within the Winter Decorative

space in Battersea Park in London.
Two new participants join the fair in 2019: Meg
Andrews Antique Costumes & Textiles of London will
bring rare, unusual, and interesting pieces dating from
antique to mid-century modern, and London House
Rugs of Yorkshire will offer an extensive collection of
antique rugs, carpets, and runners. Of particular interest
to our readers may be Joss Graham Gallery of
London, which will present ethnographic textiles from
Africa and India, and Markus Voigt of Kent will also be
there with a huge choice of textiles from as far afi eld
as Southeast Asia and the Americas.
