Objects from other lands will complete its offerings,
including an impressive Mumuye fi gure
from Nigeria. Galerie Bernard Dulon will also
participate in Frieze Masters, where it will present
a major museum-quality work: a Kota reliquary
guardian fi gure that was collected before
1900 and was included in the renowned Eternal
Ancestors exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum
of Art in New York in 2007–2008.
Martin Doustar will participate in Frieze Masters
for the fi rst time this year with offerings in
keeping with the high standards that the show
requires. For his London debut, Doustar has
announced an exhibition that will be accompanied
by a catalog. Titled Kunstkammer: One
Hundred Treasures from the Ancient World,
the show will consist of artworks with diverse
provenances from the Caribbean to Polynesia and from
Africa to the Americas.
Tribal Art Fair
AMSTERDAM—The 15th annual Amsterdam Tribal Art
Fair will take place October 27–29, 2017, produced under
the direction of Finette Lemaire of Gallery Lemaire.
Some twenty dealers from the Netherlands and neighboring
countries will once again gather at the beautiful
De Duif exhibition venue to present a vibrant selection
of sculptures, masks, ornaments, weapons, and other
objects from Africa, Oceania, Asia, and the Americas. A
program of lectures and other events has been scheduled,
which will enhance the experience provided by the
dealers and the widely varied artworks they will present.
