REFLECTIVE Beyond the Mask at Galerie Schoffel De Fabry At Parcours events, where the surprising and the extravagantly original often appear to be the order of the day, the most audacious approach may be to avoid those tendencies and to focus on more obvious subjects. This will be the path taken by Schoffel De Fabry with Beyond the Mask, an exhibition built around the theme of the mask, a quintessentially representative form of the arts not only of Africa and Oceania but of Asia as well. Aesthetic considerations are not all that this exhibition will explore, as it will delve further into the relationships that masks, by virtue of their very existence, create between the artist, man, and the world of the spirits. FESTIVE 15 Parcours, and as Many Visions of the World at Espace Tribal In celebration of its fi fteenth anniversary, Parcours des Mondes is producing a retrospective exhibition organized by Tribal Art magazine at Espace Tribal, the location where a variety of special programs will be held. 15 Parcours will revisit highlights of the history of this show, which was fi rst held in 2002 and quickly became the most important event of its kind in the tribal art world. The exhibition is an opportunity to honor those whose commitment led to its development and success—the dealers and, of course, the collectors as well. Dealers who have contributed objects to the exhibition include David Serra, Olivier Castellano, Joaquin Pecci, Jacaranda Gallery, Galerie Dandrieu-Giovagnoni, and Galerie Patrik Fröhlich, among others. To all of you who have helped in this venture—and you know who you are—thank you! ART IN MOTION ABOVE: Mask. Bete, Guere- Wobé, Côte d’Ivoire. Wood. H: 39 cm. © Galerie Schoffel de Fabry.
